Product Manager


Product Manager builds and grows digital products. They understand the product functionality in detail, analyse market and competitors, talk to users, track adoption and growth, set priorities, write documentation, publish product updates and resolve blockers so team can perform at their best level.
This is closest role to CEO. Product manager is leader, maker, and visionary.

Communicate clearly

Process complex information and communicate ideas in a simple way. Turn messy and confusing requirements into simple-to-digest steps and actions. Share updates regularly.
  • Lead: suggest solutions, take responsibility, resolve conflicts, set deadlines, create, help and encourage your team
  • Write concisely. Use simple words, send shortest messages and emails with straightforward meaning and clear call to action, attach visuals to explain complex thoughts. Use HemingwayApp and LLMs to simplify your writing
  • Visualise information: FigJam , Miro , Pitch , NotebookLM, Google Sheets. Create charts, diagrams, algorithms, tables, presentations to write less text and explain difficult concepts
  • Take screenshots : built-in screen capture; cleanshot
  • Research: use LLMs and Google heavily to learn details from multiple sources about similar features, products, tactics, playbooks. Ask people from target industry via social media, emails and chats
  • Create documentation, roadmap and tasks . Publish regular updates for clients and potential users. Notion / Linear / Confluence

Understand technology

Learn and use tech tools to work great with the development teams.
  • ⚡️ LLMs: Gemini / Claude / ChatGPT. Clarify documentation, brainstorm solutions for blockers, research market, automate routine tasks, proofread and write.
  • SQL: analyse data and create reports. Write SQL with LLMs
  • API endpoints, JSON: Postman. Read API docs, understand request parameters and response data, send test requests,
  • SEO: understand main meta tags: title, description, OpenGraph; learn about programmatic SEO
  • Dev architecture basics: client vs server, deployment process

Use no-code platforms

Implement product functionality without developers.
  • Database: Supabase: SQL database and authorisation. Query data, understand and manage users actions, send welcome emails. Airtable as a modern Google Sheets replacement
  • Automation: Zapier / Make / n8n. Configure integrations with multiple tools, learn to pass params
  • Payments: Stripe dashboard and docs. Products, prices, subscriptions (upgrades, cancels, downgrades), proration, manual invoices
  • Analytics: Posthog / Google Analytics. Analyse product adoption and growth
  • Landing pages: Notion +Super , Carrd. Create simple landing pages to pitch to users and pitch ideas to clients.
